Alice Carter, Ph.D.

Alice Carter, Distinguished Professor of Psychology, researches the identification of infants and children at risk for problems in social, behavioral, and emotional functioning and understanding the role of family functioning in the developmental course of children at genetic risk for or exhibiting clinical disorders such as autism.

As part of the Center’s community engaged research and action, Professor Carter leads the State Certified Community Health Worker with specialization in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health course through UMass Boston’s Continuing and Online Education program.
